People. Just. Don't. Care.

And it strikes that me that many people out there think that what ever they have achieved in life, must be approved by the outer world. People.

Funny how I just started this post with "and" as if it is a sequel to an original post. Reality is, it IS a sequel, yet not one that is related to a typed out blog post of mine. It is a sequel to what is happening on a daily basis.

Day by day, I am intrigued by the amount of people who strive to literally "show their goods" to the world just for the sake of external approval. Once that approved has been received, the approval seeking person craves for more. It is a way of life for most people.

Fancy cars. Jewelry. Cash. Attractive partners. Stylish clothing. These are all forms of ego-ic interpretations. These are all thoughts governing the minds of people which will constantly convince them that such "uniqueness" are enhancements to their identities which will make them look and feel better in their society. It is a self satisfying thought, yet mind poisoning. Which is why you. Just. Can't. Get. Enough.

"I want to have a HOT, SEXY, girlfriend" explained my friend unauthentically his need.

"Why?" I asked "Why do you want that specific quality?"

"I want to walk in the streets of this city while people point at us and say 'There goes XYZ and his smoking hot girlfriend!'" He responded in attempt to convince me that this is coming from his core.

As I ended that phone call, thoughts started washing away as consciousness cast a nimbus over my mind. I was present. "People just do not care" I said to myself. I was becoming delusional from a conscious perspective. I was detaching myself from form. The form of surrounding objects which we, as humans, would consider important and critical to our existence or enhancement of our identity.

Identity has no form. And as formless as it is, the objects surrounding it - which are perceived as important to its existence - will remain formless. Hence, leaving themselves as unimportant as they could be.

Eckhart Tolle mentioned a profound statement in his book "A New Earth" which discussed "Identity". Identity is not attached to a label such as age, or an objectified substance such as a college degree, but rather it is simply saying "I am..." and enjoying the silence that comes after that. When you are free of association from any external objects, thoughts, manifestations, conditioning, and so on, then you are free from external approval. You are authentic.

Authenticity falls under the ability to express and not to impress. Impressing people for the sake of approval requires you to be constantly alert of what other people's thoughts are about you. This by itself leaves you unconscious. It is an illusion created by your own mind. Your own thoughts. Yet thoughts which pretend to be you. Thoughts that lie on the surface and never manage to sink deep.

Imagine yourself as a pond in complete stillness. You are at peace. Then imagine a drop of water touching the surface of the pond. Does it shake you? Physically it would. It is merely an act of nature. However, does the drop penetrate the surface into the depths of that pond? Or does it disappear and become one with the pond whilst creating ripples on the surface?

The drop of water is the thought. The thought which, upon your choice and ability to accept its presence, might govern you or be governed by you.

No matter how hard you try to climb that ladder in society, people literally do not care. The ones who, will lend you that approval you are seeking for a short period of time and brush you off. Why? Because they have better things to take care. Some, however, will constantly give you approval for the sake of your approval to their actions. If you approve, they approve. It is a loop that constantly convinces you that as long as people agree with you, you will agree with you. The more that dosage of validation is given to you, the more that "you" inflates to agree with you, and consequently, control you. To most people, this is how society works. To the conscious mind, it is part of your ego; another formless entity. The formless entity which you have not given birth to(for society has done so) but rather helped it grow.

It takes a single thought to kick you back into unconsciousness for the sake of external validation and approval of your actions, thoughts, what you have achieved, how much you earn for a living, what your social status is, how much value you give to people, and so on and so forth.

Always remind yourself that whatever you achieve, own, want to achieve, will never be part of other people's reality unless they want to suck you into theirs for the sake of their own status in society or any relevant aspect of that behavior. Ironically, it is also an approval seeking action. And even if that DOES happen, you will be provided with that form of validation for a period of time that insatiable to your thoughts which are controlling you.

You will be reminded of this reality that lies deep in your core when people will intentionally/unintentionally stop providing you with their approval. The bad news is, you will feel empty. You will feel the unbearable emotion of being unable to move forward towards your goals. It is true. If you're denying this fact, this feeling, this emptiness, then your ego is at work. It is protecting itself from nonexistence. Because the instant you realize all this, is the moment you are entering a state of consciousness, presence, and awareness of your true beauty and core's potential. That's the good news.

People. Just. Don't. Care.
